India Hate Lab

India Hate Lab is a project of CSOH that documents hate speech events targeting India's religious minorities. It presents itself as a research organization run by journalists and academics. The CID scored its annual report at 3.9 — Advocacy-Grade. The report tracks hate speech events year over year but does not report denominators, making it impossible to tell whether hate speech is rising or whether the organization is simply finding more of it. Inter-coder reliability — a standard check for whether different analysts would classify the same event the same way — is absent.
